Il Piano Regionale di Consulenza allIrrigazione (PRCI) è uno strumento di supporto per la gestione razionale ed efficiente della risorsa idrica, destinato alle aziende agricole ed ai Consorzi di Bonifica ed Irrigazione della Regione Campania.

Partito in via sperimentale nella Piana del Sele fin dal 2004 nellambito del progetto europeo DEMETER, il PRCI è stato via via esteso ad altre importanti realtà irrigue della Campania. Nel corso del 2008, il Piano ha interessato circa 250 aziende (per una superficie complessiva di circa 3000 ha) ed i principali distretti irrigui nei 4 Consorzi interessati (Destra e Sinistra Sele, Basso Volturno e Sannio-Alifano), per un totale di oltre 50.000 ha. Limplementazione tecnologica del Piano è stata sviluppata presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Agraria ed Agronomia del Territorio dellUniversità di Napoli Federico II, con la collaborazione dello spin-off accademico Ariespace s.r.l. (www. ariespace.com).

Il Piano, basato sullintegrazione di immagini satellitari ed Information Technology, fornisce in tempo reale una valutazione dei fabbisogni irrigui a scala aziendale e di distretto .
